Replacement Shank and Anti-Rattle Assembly for Hollywood Racks Bike Rack

Question:

Hi. I have a Hollywood 2 bike rack that is big so I can haul for my tandems . I went up a driveway and the long screw with the turning handle used to tighten the rack into the mount on the car got caught and pulled out and now it is stripped. Is this the correct replacement? Is it hard to get the old one out and replace with this? thank you

According to my contact at Hollywood Racks, unless the actual shank portion of the rack that slides into the vehicle's hitch is destroyed, you won't need to replace the entire assembly. The handle, long bolt and the wedge that tightens up the connection is available as a sub assembly as part # HRNWLB3X. According to my contact, the assembly is very easy to install.

If the shank itself is also damaged, you would indeed then need the # HRNWLB3X that you referenced.
