Will Goodyear Trailer Tire Lose Pressure Overall With Temperature Changes
Question:
The Karrier tires indicate to inflate to 80psi. This is an E rated tire, with a 2830 lb payload capacity. If I inflate to 80psi, the psi will increase as the tire heats up while driving on the highway. Do you know if this increase in psi is accounted for when they say to inflate to 80psi or should I start at 75-78 psi, knowing that the psi will increase a couple of pounds while driving? Also, do you know if it accounts for outside temperature changes? I put in 80psi when I left on a recent trip. The next morning, the psi was down to 76 psi due to the cold conditions of the area I traveled to. I can check the psi every now and then while traveling, but I don't have a method to continually add pressure. I have had no luck finding the answer to this question, so I hope you are able to clear this up for me. Thank you!

Tire pressures do fluctuate a bit with temperature but if you are losing air consistently then you have a leak which is not normal and should be addressed.
The Karrier part # AM10303 does have a capacity of 2,830 lbs at 80 psi which would be what you should inflate it to when the tire is cold.
