Determining Weight Capacity of Older Utility Trailer
Question:
I have a utility trailer with out any info on it. Tires have a carrying capacity of 1360 each. Rims are 13 inch. Coupler rated at 20 to 200 pounds. Inside dim. of bed 64inch and length is 98. trailer is steel and weighs 740 pounds. Brand name is Trail Tech. I believe trailer was used for old snowmobiles as it is a tilt bed. Any idea how much weight it can carry? Thanks

The best way to try and find out the capacity of your utility trailer is to determine the axle rating. There should hopefully be a sticker or number stamped onto the axle itself with this information. If it's a round axle you can also measure its diameter to at least narrow down the possibilities (see attached image). You might also check around the coupler for a main trailer tag that lists its overall capacities.
Based on the tire and wheel specs you mentioned you're likely looking at a 2,000 to 2,500 pound trailer capacity (including the weight of the trailer itself and assuming its a single axle trailer) but unfortunately I'm not able to verify or pinpoint an exact limit.
