Difference Between Thule Hideaway Awnings TH490011 and TH490010

Question:

I ordered a 10ft hideaway for direct mount to a sprinter van. I am confused by your answer that both awnings 1 direct/flat wall mount and 2 rack mount are the same. They are not: one has a back profile with slide tracks for carriage bolts - this is the rack mount to attach to L brackets. The other has a back profile with engaging channels to fit a receiving profile, then screws just secure the fit of awning into that bracket. So the awning bodies are different. Is this not correct? If my direct mount brackets do not come, is there any other way to mount my flat wall awning to the sprinter? I want to mount on side where the sliding door is there is no flat wall to mount to.

Broadly speaking the difference between the two Thule Hideaway kits is that the # TH490011 is a flat mount that attaches to the side of an RV like you need whereas the part # TH490010 is for attaching to a roof rack. There are several smaller details between the two that are different so that each application fits as best as it can so you are correct they are slightly different.

The brackets you ordered will show up. There's no reason why the kit would show up incomplete.
