Skybox NX 16 Compatability on a 2011 Jeep Liberty with Rear Center Mounted Antenna

Question:

I am trying to figure out what the rear overhang of the SkyBox 16 is with the rear clamps adjusted as far back as possible. With my aftermarket cross bars on the Liberty I have 14 inch of clearance due to the center mounted radio antenna. I would like to find a box that has 60 inch of interior length, are there any others that may have the rear overhang I need that are that long internally?

I spoke with my contact at Yakima and he said the determining factor when calculating your rear overhang is measuring from the front clamps adjusted as far back as possible to the rear of the box. On the Yakima SkyBox NX 16, part # Y95AV, this measurement is 47 inches. You will want to measure the distance between your front crossbar adjusted all the way forward and the distance you are comfortable with closest to your antenna and determine if this 47 inch measurement will fit.

We have a wide variety of cargo boxes that will give you the interior length of 60 inches that you are wanting. Any of our cargo boxes that have a length of 64 inches or more should give you the 60 inch interior length. You may want to consider other factors before choosing a cargo box such as the height and width you want. This will narrow down your choices to better fit your needs.

Another product I would recommend would be the Yakima RocketBox Pro 14, part # Y07192. This box is smaller than the Yakima SkyBox NX 16, but still offers the interior length that you need and has a measurement of 45 inches from the front clamps to the rear of the box.
