Can Used Edge Performance Tuner Be Unlocked to Allow Use in Other Vehicle
Question:
I recently purchased a Edge 2 performance module for my Chevy pickup and I bought it off of letitgo.com the gentleman told me that the module was a plug-and-play that you just plug it into the OBD2 and that it should read up my files and I could program it to the one to the settings that I desired and when I plug in the module the module says that it is locked due to being locked because it was programmed to another vehicle now since it was programmed to another vehicle the vehicle that it was programmed to is in a completely another state he says and he does not know how to locate the individual that bought or purchased the vehicle from him I guess he traded into a dealership and the dealership went ahead and sold the vehicle will he took it out before he ended up finalizing the deal he just took it without even saying anything and ended up selling it online so thats right come into play and thats what I purchased it for my pick up for now Im not able to get this performance module to work because it is locked to the vehicle that is no longer in the pictures how do I go about unlocking it in order to get it to work on my vehicle without having any headaches is there a way I can plug it into my computer to reset it do I have to mail it in to the company I mean what needs to happen all I know is that I purchased this online and I was told that it would be ready to go and now I cant get it to work and I spend $500 on it and now it doesnt work so I dont understand then if you guys keep somebody could please help me out I really appreciate it if not well its my fault for buying it from somebody on the side and just going directly to the company I just thought I could save to you know a few hundred dollars and it would still work man figured somebody would keep their word but its sad nowadays people cant keep their words or are in about nothing everybody so I was trying to scam everybody and I cant stand it because Im not that way and I dont like dealing with people that have that way I like to do good create business to give one hundred percent all the way no ands ifs or buts about it no lying cheating or trying to get over on people I dont I dont like that at all I dont know if you do business that way please disregard this this entire message but if youre somebody that can keep your word and is a good person that can help me out I would really appreciate it sorry for the novel thank you for the help and a man. Performance tuners like Edge's Juice with Attitude CTS2 # EP31507 store the vehicle's original factory tune in their internal memory and save it for when the owner wants to return the vehicle to its stock tune. If an alternate tune were to be installed in a vehicle's computer, and the tuner was then removed from that vehicle, the stock tune would still be loaded into the tuner's memory and this would prevent it from accepting the stock tune from a different vehicle.
Edge may be able to unlock your tuner so that you can use it but to find out if this is possible you will need to call them with the unit's model number, serial number and date code. If they can unlock it there will be a charge to do so.

You can also confirm with them that the specific tuner model you have is compatible with your particular year/model/version Chevy vehicle.
