Wiring Red Reverse Light Wire on New Trailer Light Assembly

Which wire do I connect the red wire goes to the back up light ? I didn’t have a red wire on my old lights.

The red wire on your new 5-function tail light assembly like the Bergman # 30-92-002 is indeed for the reverse light function. If the lights you are replacing did have a reverse function then you will just need to find the appropriate reverse circuit wire on the trailer by applying 12V power to each of them to see what function they activate.
Most trailers though do not use reverse lights, so if your old lights didn't have a reverse function then it's more likely that there isn't an existing wire on your trailer to which this would be connected. If you don't need reverse light functions on the assemblies you can simply tie this wire off but if you do you will need to run a wire from the center pin of the trailer's 7-Way or the 5th pin of the 5-Way to the red wire in question.
If you only have a 4-Way connector on the trailer this will need to be replaced with a new connector that allows for the reverse light circuit. The easiest option will be to replace it with a 5-Way like # HM47910.
