Hot Water Smells Bad

Question:

Why does the hot water have a rotten eggs smell on a Atwood gc6aa-10e. There is no anode rod I can find and to my understanding because of the aluminum tank it’s not needed or doesn’t have one. What is the fix for this? 2007 jayco eagle 341rlqs

From the parts list I looked at for your water heater there is no anode rod, which is sometimes the cause of the rotten egg smell you are unfortunately experiencing (which is actually hydrogen sulfide). I took a look online at some tips to get rid of the smell and it says to flush the water heater with hydrogen peroxide or household vinegar.

Additionally, once per year you will want to use a flushing wand such as # A01-0184VP and flush your tank with fresh water.
