How to Determine Correct Rise or Drop for B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount

Question:

I am looking for a 10k adjustable ball mount with two hitch balls and really like the B&W tow & stow but am not quite sure which is the rise rise or drop I need? Do I just get the one with the most drop?

Determining how to get the correct rise or drop is actually pretty simple and only requires two measurements. If you get the largest rise and drop you could wind up with more ball mount than necessary.

In order to choose the correct ball mount, there are a couple measurements you'll need to take. First, make sure both your vehicle and trailer are parked on level ground; you'll then want to measure from the ground to the top of the inside of your hitch receiver. Next, measure from the ground to the bottom of your trailer's coupler and find the difference between the two measurements.

If the height of your hitch is greater, you will need a ball mount with that amount of drop. If the height of the coupler is greater, you'll need a ball mount with that amount of rise.

For example, if the top of the hitch on your vehicle measured 15 inches and the bottom of your coupler measured 10 inches, you would need the Tow & Stow with 5 inches of drop, the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise # BWTS10037B.

I have listed the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mounts with a 10,000 lb capacity that fit a 2 inch hitch; I've also added a link to a video review of the Tow & Stow for you to check out.

- B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise # BWTS10037B
- B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 7" Drop, 7-1/2" Rise # BWTS10040B
- B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 9" Drop, 9-1/2" Rise # BWTS10043B
