For your 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD with Duramax engine and Allison transmission, I highly recommend the Derale Hyper-Cool Extreme Remote Cooler Assembly part # D15870 as it consists of a stacked plate-fin cooler which is the best design on the market as it is most effective and it comes with an 800 CFM fan that will provide more air to the cooler than will ever be required for your setup. In order to install this you will need the following:
Derale Remote Mounting Kit for Transmission Coolers part # D13023
Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM part # D13035
Please note, the 1/2" hoses are required for the Allison transmission in order to prevent any loss in line pressure. The above kit comes with 10' of hose but if you need more you can also order part # D15700 or part # D15799.
