Why Would Trailer Wiring Have an Extra Ground Wire
Question:
My trailer plug has 5 connections total but there are two whit e ground wires running to one of the 5 connections. Why 2 ground wires?

Since you can't "over ground" a wiring circuit but you can definitely not provide enough of a ground to allow it to function the extra ground wire is like insurance. It just helps ensure you don't end up with an insufficient ground scenario.
