In order to install a 5th wheel hitch on your 1998 Dodge Ram Quad Cab, I recommend using the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # RP30035. If you already have a set of Reese base rails then you can get just the Reese Universal Installation Kit part # RP30439 and the Replacement Hardware Kit for Reese 5th Wheel Base Rails part # RP58504.
The Reese Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # RP58386 is not a fit (09'+ only) nor do they offer one similar for your 98'.
