My Propane Tanks Will Not Stay On The Rack And Bounce Around

Question:

I have a cylinder rack for my two tanks but when we drive they will often bounce off the rack and I am wondering if the cover will help keep the tanks on the rack. Or if there is something else wrong with it.

The bottom of the rack that screws (usually with self tapping screws) to the trailer tongue may be loose so the tanks are bouncing around or the threaded rod that clamps the bottles to the tray is not long enough to hold the size of propane tanks you are using on the rack. The rod may be too short in that case you would want to replace the rod or replace the rack.

A dual Camco Propane Tank cover like part # CAM40542 may help to keep the tanks together in the cover and helps protect them from debris when you drive down the road but if the rack is not meant for the size tanks you are using it for the tanks will bounce around in the cover which could be dangerous. I recommend replacing the rack first.
