Best Bike Rack Solution for Class I Hitch to Carry E-Bike
Question:
Im considering buying an e-bike which are heavier than normal bikes. I will only be carrying one bike at this time. I watched the video and like the xct-2. I have a class 1 hitch. Would you recommend this hitch or a different one?

Helpful Expert Reply:
E-bikes are heavier than what the Swagman XTC2 bike rack part # S64670 is going to be rated to carry so you'll want to look into a bike rack that has the capacity you'll need and can fit a Class I hitch like you have as well like the Thule EasyFold XT part # TH903202 which is the best possible option. Basically all e-bike racks are not going to be rated for a Class I hitch since this is a heavier weight application. The EasyFold is a rare exception and comes loaded with other features that make it the best choice even regardless of hitch size.
Aside from the weight capacity of the rack it also has ramps which make loading/unloading bikes easy, can fold up for easy transport of the rack, and has a bike frame clamping system that allows it to better fit the alternative style frames of the e-bikes.
I attached a review video link to this page as well as a picture of an e-bike loaded onto it as well.
