Deciding Between the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount with 4-1/2 Inch and 7 Inch Drop for a 2015 F-250

Question:

I have a 2015 f-250 4x4 truck not lifted with 20inch tires. and looking for hitch. for most jobs I will need to but how much 5 7. could you give me suggestion. I know the 5 would do most of what I need but what would be the advantage for the 7inch ? I have the 2.5 receiver so I am looking at that but more cost is it worth it in the long run. I guess I am asking what is the best fit on the for the mount on a non-lifted f-250 4x4 with 20inch tires. Plus this hitch is so!!!!! much sexier Grin.

It sounds like you are trying to decide between the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount part # BWTS20049B which has 7" of drop and the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount part # BWTS20048B which has 4-1/2" of drop. If that is the case then you will need to do some measuring first. The first measurement will be taken from the ground to the top, inside edge of your trailer hitch receiver tube. The distance from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler while level will then need to be subtracted from this. That will then give you the correct amount of drop needed.

If you will be towing multiple trailers then you may want to go with the one that offers a good range of adjustment so you don't have to tow nose high but the down side of this is limited ground clearance with the longer channel.
