Will Bypassing Factory Brake Controller of 2012 GMC Sierra 2500 Cause Error Codes on Dash

WHEN I INSTALL AN AFTERMARKT CONTROLLER IN TRUCK TO BYPASS FACTORY CONTROLLER WILL SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE foot BE DISPLAYED ON DASH.OR IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE NEEDED TO BE DONE TO PREVENT THIS

You can avoid an error code displaying on the dash of your 2012 GMC Sierra 2500 when you go to install the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 that you mentioned but there are some extra steps you have to take since you will be bypassing an OEM brake controller.
