The Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit # LC434723 that you referenced is compatible with your Dometic awning and will easily convert it to a power awning so that you don't have to struggle to deploy it.

This will simply require changing the heads on your awning frame and then wiring the unit. I've attached the photo from the installation manual that specifies how to wire the awning.

Like the question above I have one of my Dometic manual arms across a window in the front of my travel trailer. How would the new arm work in that front location?

The new Solera arms should install in the same location as your existing Dometic unit. I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say the existing arm goes across a window - do you happen to have a picture you could email me directly?

I have a domestic 8500 manual awning 16’ on my motorhome. The arms on the awning are 78” long with brackets. I don’t see any power arms that are that length for my unit. And The front arm goes over the front passage window. What do a need. My motorhome is a 2009 newmar. Bay star 29.1

We recently reached out to Lippert about this very model, and they verified that the # LC434723 is the right kit to make this upgrade. It's typically okay to replace your longer arms with shorter ones, as long as the actual awning extension matches. If your awning, when extended, measures less than 9 feet, 8 inches, you're good to go. If it's larger than this please let me know.

You'll unbolt the old ones where they attach to your RV and the new uprights will install in the same place.
