Can Swagman 2 Bike Bag Be Used on Cargo Carrier

Question:

Will the Swagman Bike Bag fit on a rear cargo tray? We have a 2016 Outdoors RV Blackstone 280 RKS travel trailer with a rear cargo tray that pulls out and takes the place of a hitch. There is a vertical bar that we can raise to anchor the bikes to. How are the bikes protected from rubbing against each other while in the bag? When using the bag is there a way to secure the bag and bikes when traveling and to prevent theft?

The Swagman 2 Bike Bag # S24FR that you referenced is designed to drape and close over a loaded bike rack. There isn't anything inside the bag that would prevent bikes from rubbing against each other as this is something that individual cradles and straps from a bike rack would take care of. This simply covers the bikes to protect them from dirt, dust, and road debris during travel.

A small padlock like # ML4688D could be used to lock the zipper on the bag and you can use some cable locks like # e98891 to secure the bikes to the vertical post you mentioned.

If you are just needing to secure and transport your bikes your best option is going to be with a rack specifically designed for that purpose. I highly recommend the Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Rack # S44FR, which can handle 2 bikes that are up to 45 pounds each, is approved for use at the back of a trailer, and includes locks to secure everything into place. It is compatible wwith 2 inch trailer hitch receivers.
