Is There a Way to Prevent Snow Chains From Damaging Chrome Rims

Question:

Hello. I was just about to order PWH2828SC when I thought I better ask an expert about something. My tires are 285/50-20s and they are mounted on some pretty nice chrome rims. I know this product will fit, but will they damage the rims? Is there a product that would protect the rims better? I could email you a photo if that would help. Thank you!

With snow chains there is always a possibility that your rims could get scratched or damaged. If I were you I would consider getting a spare set of rims with snow tires mounted on them. This way you would not have to worry about scratching your nice rims. Also, you would have a setup that you could get around in the snow with and would not be limited to only low speeds like snow chains do. This is what I do with my car and it works very well for me.
