How Are Large Refrigerators Powered When Dry Camping

Question:

While I’m camping, I can’t turn off my refrigerator, my food will spoil. I have a cut off switch for when I’m not using the camper. My problem is while I’m using the 189R to dry camp. The refrigerator drains all the power to stay cold even on the lowest setting. I don’t know who’s idea it is to use battery/electric refrigerators but they are absolutely not suitable for dry camping.

Refrigerators do draw a pretty considerable amount of amperage to stay on and keep the food cool. The only way you'd be able to keep it running in a dry camp would be with a generator like the etrailer generator part # 333-0003.

I'd go with a 120 volt fridge since generators in general put out more amperage for this configuration over 12 volt.
