Recommended Weight Distribution System For 2003 Nissan Xterra With Small Tent Trailer

Question:

I have a 2003 Nissan XTerra with the OEM Nissan hitch. I am towing a small Forest River tent trailer that is about 2000 lbs loaded. I usually have about 200 lbs in the back of the vehicle. The tongue weight is around 200 lbs. Will the Equal-I-Zer weight bearing hitch rated at 4000 lbs GTW and 400 lbs tongue weight be a good fit? I will be using it to level the vehicle. For your 2003 Nissan Xterra and Forest River Tent Trailer, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37060ET which is rated for up to 600 lbs. The 400 lb system part # EQ37040ET would not be a good choice as this will be at the very end of your capacity which does not leave room for error and with the above you can add weight over time if needed. I always recommend going with the next size up system from what you think that you need.
