Trailer Brakes are Locking Up When Going in Reverse
Question:
I have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma that towed our boat fine several times, but recently our trailer brakes began locking up in when we went in reverse. We checked and another vehicle doesnt cause this to happen-trailer goes in reverse fine. Ive checked the fuses in the Tacoma and everything looks good. Any suggestions?

I do have suggestions. Trailer brakes locking up in reverse isn't uncommon and that means most likely the solenoid on the reverse lockout is no longer getting the voltage needed when in reverse. Sometimes it can be a corroded connector but that isn't going to be the case on a '19 Tacoma. Check the wiring on your Tacoma - which will be a pain but is necessary - to try and find any damaged, frayed or pinched wires to see if that is causing the problem.
I've added a link to a help article on trailer wiring which I highly recommend reading.
