Curt Echo Controller for 2018 Ford Expedition LTD
Question:
My wife and I both have model 7 iPhones but also have a sixth generation iPad. Can either device be used to communicate with the Echo model? Also, is there any reprogramming of the vehicles computer required to properly configure the system?

The Curt Echo, part # C51180, runs on Apple devices with iOS 8 or higher. That's actually pretty old dating all the way back to the iPhone 4S so your iPhone 7's and your 6th generation iPad won't have any issues at all.
As long as your 2018 Ford Expedition has a 7-way trailer connector and the 12 volt pin works then you won't need to do anything to the vehicle to use the Echo.
