Hitch Load Support and Roof Rack Recommendation for 2019 Toyota 4Runner

Question:

Trying to figure out the best way to mount a 12 ft kayak on my stock 2019 4Runner Pro roof rack. Do you think that the Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier w/ Hitch Mounted Load Extender and Single-Bar Roof Rack Item # DTA944-968-924 would be useful or do you have any other suggestions? Our concern is that the stock rack, unlike the FJs, does not extend to the front of the roof it stops midway.

The Darby Extend-A-Truck Kayak Carrier w/ Hitch Mounted Load Extender and Single-Bar Roof Rack Item # DTA944-968-924 would be useful but I would only go this route if you only planned to carry the kayak rarely as this is not the most stable setup I'd recommend for regular use. The price is really great though.

If you wanted something much more stable you'd want the Rhino-Rack T-Load part # RTL002 with a much more stable Malone roof rack part # MPG215.
