Pivot Arm Adjustments On BWRVK3600

Question:

how do you determine where to locate the head brackets ... behind, ahead of, or over the axle ... what effect does the position have on the hitch/truck

Expert Reply:

You want to try to get the center line of the hitch part # BWRVK3600 over the rear axle as much as possible, if not over it then a few inches forward of the rear axle for the best ride quality.

On any 5th wheel/gooseneck hitch and vehicle the center of the hitch should not be behind the rear axle because it can affect handling, braking and steering. It can also cause the front of the truck to ride high.

As far as vertical adjustment goes, you want 5-6 inches of clearance between your king pin and the bed rails to avoid contact.
