Recommended Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System for Trailer with 7,320 Pound GVWR
Question:
I have a 2017 Rockwood Ultra Lite model 2608WS. Dry weight 5,876 LBS. Payload weight 1,444 LBS. Tongue weight 720 LBS. As best as I can tell totaling it up the total weight equals 7,320 LBS. and 12.5 of that equals a loaded tongue weight of 915 LBS. not counting things in the bed of the truck. Which model Equal-izer hitch would better suit my application, the 10,000 LBS GTW 1,000 LBS. tongue weight, or the 12,000 LBS. GTW 1,200 tongue weight. Seems Im right in the middle...dont want to be under efficient, but also dont want overkill.

You have done your homework! You are correct that the GVWR of your Rockwood Ultra Lite is 7,320 pounds which would likely put your loaded tongue weight at around 915 pounds. While still allowing for some wiggle room to account for added cargo weight behind the rear axle of your truck the higher-rated Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System - 12,000/1,200 # EQ37120ET is your best option.
This system's 800 to 1,200 pound tongue weight capacity matches your potential total tongue weight range perfectly. Equal-i-zer was actually at our facility not too long ago and they told us on numerous occasions that their systems are designed to work just fine if they end up being a tad over-rated, so you don't have to worry about that being an issue. They strongly recommended having an over-rated system over one that straddles the line in the other direction.
This system will do an excellent job of distributing the weight over the axles of your truck and trailer and its unique integrated 4-Point Sway Control will keep everything in line during travel. I do recommend adding the Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to help with installation. I have attached a video demonstration that you can check out as well.
