Recommended Tonneau Cover for 2019 Honda Ridgeline for Trunk Access

Question:

I have been looking at your reviews and they have been very helpful - they are loaded with details a customer needs to be aware of before purchasing a cover. Thanks for helping to educate me. It is an expensive decision and I want to get it right! Here is my question: Is there a truck bed cover for my 2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E that doesnt have side rails so as not to interfere with the in-bed trunk and is NOT a soft cover? I like the Extang 2.0 Model 92590 which doesnt have side rails, but am disappointed that it is a soft cover Im looking for more security if possible. Are there any other options out there? Thanks!

Thank you for the kind words. We try our very best to provide as much relevant information as we possibly can on all of our products so customers like you can make informed decisions without worrying about any potential surprises.

All of the standard hard tonneau covers we have available for your 2019 Honda Ridgeline are going to somewhat limit operation of the in-bed trunk. It will still allow you to open it up about 80 percent of the way but as you mentioned the rails are going to prevent full extension.

The Extang Trifecta 2.0 Soft Tonneau Cover # EX92590 that you referenced is really the closest option we have to a hard cover that will allow for full access due to its rail-free design. This is a soft vinyl cover but it does feature a tri-fold design similar to most hard models and it will do a great job of protecting any cargo from the elements. The cover cannot be folded up without first opening the tailgate so as long as the tailgate is closed and locked the cover is locked too.

If your Ridgeline isn't equipped with a tailgate lock you can add the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Handle # PL8675 that's designed specifically for this truck.
