Can Tow Ready Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter 118158 Power LED Lights
Question:
The video mentions that will not work with vehicles that have LED taillights.inch However, will its output work with simple multifunction LED fixtures? I am looking to convert a standard 4-flat connector on my vehicle to an LED fixture that has separate inputs for Left amber, rightamber, brake hi-red, and tail low-red. It looks like this part should do the trick with the tail wire bypassing the converter. Also, since I am not flat towing anything, I dont think the diodes apply. Correct?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Tow Ready Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter # 118158 will not work when fed input signals from a vehicle that has LED lights (because the wiring for such high-efficiency lights will not deliver enough power) but it can connect to LED lights on the output side. This converter will separate out the stop light signal from the combined stop/turn signals in standard trailer wiring. This converter will allow you to have separate left and right turn, stop and tail light signals to feed to your multi-function light. You do not need diodes in this application.
