I reached out to my contact at Dometic and he said that the correct replacement model for your Atwood GC6AA-8E hot water heater is part # AT96163. There will be some additional wiring for this unit though as it has the gas and electric as well as an automatic pilot.

Please note that the installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency, or gas supplier.
