Two Kayak Carrier Recommendation for Longer Kayaks on Roof Rack

Question:

Why does it say that the TH830 can only handle kayaks up to 10 feet in length? Whats the issue? I want to buy the TH830 but have two 12 foot kayaks. If I knew the reason why 10 foot long kayaks apparently are the max limit in length, then perhaps I could come up with my own work around on that issue. Alternatively I could buy the TH848 to accommodate 12 foot long kayaks but the TH848 is missing some features that I would like to have, which are part of the TH830 version, hence I would prefer the TH830. Thank you,

I have a great 2-kayak carrier from Thule that will be your best option. Check out the Thule Compass part # TH890000. This will let you carry the 2 kayaks you have easily and is also very easy to load and very secure. It does not have length restrictions either.

The # TH830 just doesn't have a great way to secure longer kayaks and since the longer the kayak the more leverage it has over the rack it's best to go with the Compass in your situation.
