Recommended Storage Method for Camco RV and Marine Disposable Water Filter CAM40043
Question:
You suggest to remove filter and put in a plastic bag in the refrigerator between camping trips. Should the filter be left out to dry first? How long can this be done and how many times?

Camco RV and Marine Disposable Water Filter # CAM40043 is intended to last one full camping season for most RVers. During the times between camping trips it is recommend to allow the filter to dry out, to place it in an unsealed plastic bag and to store it in a cool dry location to deter growth of bacteria which tend to thrive more in moist environments. I confirmed these recommended steps with Camco.
The filter can be used, dried and stored as many times as needed during one camping season but it should not be re-used after long off-season winter storage.
