I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500 hd with a prodigy P2 brake controller and with my camper hooked up when I press on the brake pedal the camper brakes don’t engage but when I pull the manual lever they do engage?

The first thing you will want to check is simply how you're actually testing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller # 90885 on your Silverado with the trailer hooked up. This is a proportional controller, meaning it will send back an amount of power to the trailer brakes proportionate to the rate of deceleration on the vehicle. If you are testing the unit with the truck and trailer parked, it's going to send back very minimal (if any) power back to the brakes when stepping on the brake pedal. The manual override will always send back maximum power which is why it would still work to engage the brakes in this scenario.
If this is how you are testing the brake controller I recommend simply taking the trailer out for a slow test drive to see if everything is working properly when coming to a stop.
If you are towing the trailer and the brakes still aren't engaging with the brake pedal then I recommend checking the connection between the P2 and the truck. Make sure the plugs are fully seated with each other using the Adapter # 3015-P.
If you still aren't able to locate or resolve the issue please let me know and we can continue to troubleshoot.
