Recommendation of Fuses and Relays for 12-Volt Power at 7-Way on 2004 Ford Expedition
Question:
I have a 2004 expedition that has a 7 way vehicle connector. All lights work except interior lights on my trailer I know they work on the trailer harness because I have tested it with a battery charger and wire I beleive the terminal giving me problems is the 12 v hot wire. I have put a 30 amp fuse in where specified but still does not work. Is there a relay somewhere that I need or is faulty? What am I missing?

On a 2004 Ford Expedition you might want to check the 12-volt power fuse and relay in the power distribution box under the hood. There should be a 12-volt power relay at position number 5 and a 12-volt power fuse at position number 13.
Also, you might check the fuse panel cover in the cab of the vehicle, under the dash, on the passengers side. It should have a 30-amp relay in position R05 and a 30-amp fuse in position 106.
You will want to verify those positions of the fuses and relays on your Expedition by checking your owners manual or also the fuse box covers on both locations will usually list the positions of the relays and fuses for the 12-volt power.
You might also want to check if you need your headlights or running lights on for your interior trailer lights to work. Sometimes interior trailer lights can be wired to the running light circuit of your vehicle.
