Can Different Brand of Shank Be Used with Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Hitch
Question:
I currently have a reese round bar wd hitch. I am thinking of getting the equilzer hitch without the shank, if my current shank will work. I wasnt sure if equalizer had a special shank.

Yes, you can use your existing Reese or Pro Series weight distribution shank with any other brand of weight distribution system such as the Equal-i-zer # EQ37101ET since these parts are standardized for hole size and spacing. This Equal-i-zer system works for loaded trailer tongue weight from 600- to 1000-lbs (including the weight of any cargo that sits behind the tow vehicle's rear axle).
All you might want to add is a thin-walled socket for installing the hitch ball. We offer Powerbuilt part # ALL643216 and Equal-i-zer part # EQ70-00-4800.
