Replacement Jack # TJA-5000S-B for Jack On Trailer with Damaged Threads

Question:

Good Afternoon, I have a BullDog Jack BD1550100317 on my boat trailer and it is welded into the frame of the trailer. I ran into an issue where it was raised too high and I thought I had stripped the gears. It became hard to crank in certain position and then there was a lot of play when I switched directions and also it jumps sometimes as I lower it down. I replaced the gears and handle with a kit from you over the weekend but now I think that it might be bolt and screw. I didnt take that out when I replaced the gears. Could you suggest a bolt and screw part number that I could purchase that would fit this or would I need just buy a new jack and pull the guts to put in my current jack. Thank you.

You definitely do have a damaged screw and nut in your Bulldog jack # BD1550100317 based on what you described. Since those parts aren't available you'll have to replace the jack entirely or possibly just swap the internals from the new to the old.

What happened is that you over-extended your trailer jack which is what ruined the threads of the jack.

For a replacement, I recommend the Round A-Frame Trailer Jack - Sidewind - 15-5/8" Travel - 5,000 lbs # TJA-5000S-B.
