Troubleshooting Pilot Brake Controller that Shows Random Letters and Numbers When Brakes Applied

Our pilot brake controller is showing a code that is not in our instructions. It is a small backwards c in the upper left corner with a dot below. When the brake is applied, a jumble of numbers and letters are displayed.

Sounds like your Pilot brake controller part # 80550 is in need of a reset. Try unplugging it from the vehicle wiring for a few seconds and plugging it back in. That should clear out the error code you are experiencing. If not, then the controller has an internal problem and would need to be replaced.
