Will the Malone Dual Purpose Hitch Receiver Work With a Ball Mount That Has a Rise

Question:

The level of my hitch ball mount sits above my cars hitch. If I use the top receiver for my bike rack will I have enough clearance between the 2 receivers to use my bottom receiver for my pop up trailer? Picture of my ball mount is attached. Or do you recommend another option for towing a pop up trailer and a bike rack? Thank you!

It sounds like you are using a ball mount with a rise and you are wanting to make sure it will work with the Malone 2" Dual Purpose Hitch Receiver part # MPG544 while you have a bike rack in the upper receiver tube portion. The picture of your ball mount did not come though but in order to see if the above is possible we would need to know how much rise you have on your ball mount. If the rise of the ball mount plus the height of the hitch ball does not exceed 5" which is the distance between the the receiver tube openings on the above then the adapter should in theory work for you. This adapter like most adapters will reduce your tongue weight capacity by 50%.

If the above will not work for you, you can use the Jack-It 2 Bike Rack for A-Frame Trailers part # LC429756 if you have an a-frame trailer.
