Yakima Kayak Carrier Solution for 2015 Subaru Forester

Hello All, My question has to do with retrofitting a set of Yakima round bars to my new car rack. The accessory I am trying to adapt is their Hull Raiser kayak bars. I have found what I believe is the correct part, a Mighty Mount , but its just a bit too big for the bars that are on my 2015 Subaru Forester. I am wondering is I could either a washer where the bolt passes through, or perhaps use a shim either copper or a hard plastic to allow the Might Mount to clamp more securely on my bars. Any thoughts? thank you.

I checked with Yakima and they said that your HullRaiser does not have a Mighty Mounts solution for your Subaru Forester your best option will be an a new kayak carrier like the JayLow part # Y04073 which is a confirmed direct fit for your crossbars and is an upgrade from the Hullraiser. This has more padding and can fold down when not in use so it's a really great option!
