Smaller Trailer and Wheel Size for Trailer with 215/75-14 Tire Size

Question:

OK - the wheels that were on here were 215-75R14s I had to deflate them, pull the bearing buddys and pry them out of the wheelwells to do the bearings. not some thing I could do on the road. I tried 205 - 75r14s and they wont go either. A 195 -75r 14 works but the tires om those rims are bad. So maybe I can go to a 13inch tire? like a 185 75r 13? the camper is approximately 1700 pounds or so

Expert Reply:

Best option is the 13 inch wheel and tire size you mentioned of 185/75R13 like the Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire # AM31994. The 195 -75r 14 size you mentioned is a passenger vehicle tire size and definitely should not be used on a trailer.

The # AM31994 will fit easily like you want and would have more than enough weight capacity so it will work great. The wheel is also galvanized steel so it will fight corrosion too. The bolt pattern is the same as what you have so it will bolt right up too.
