Replacement Key for Sportrack # SR1002 Roof Rack with 016 Lock Cylinder

Question:

Thanks for the quick response. I already have metal cylinders and that video only shows installation, but I think it means I need a Universal change Key to remove a cylinder?

They are two possible key options for your 016 lock on your Sportrack Roof Rack # SR1002. The Replacement Key for Thule and Sportrack Racks and Carriers - N016 # THKEYN016 is a possible fit but the Replacement Key for Sportrack Racks and Carriers - Y016 # THKEYY016 is also a possibility. I would get one of each and one will work.

If you choose to drill out the lock core instead, be really careful to not drill outside the core and damage the rack. Then you can replace the lock with # 05011500000 to have one lock keyed differently if that is the case or you can replace all of the locks with # TH450400 to allow them all to be keyed alike. The replacement key you need for your Sportrack # SR1002 roof rack with 016 lock core can be one of two possibilities. The more likely option is the Replacement Key for Sportrack Racks and Carriers - Y016 # THKEYY016 but it could possibly be the Replacement Key for Sportrack Racks and Carriers - N016 # THKEYN016.

If you drill out the lock core, be careful not to drill past the core and damage the rack. If you don't need matching locks you can use the Replacement Lock Core for SportRack Locking Accessories - Qty 1 # 05011500000 or if you want matching locks use # TH450400.

If the lock cylinder is unlocked then you can simply use the Universal Change Key for Thule Locks # 853-1251 to remove the cylinder, but if it is locked it will either need the key to unlock it and then the change key to remove it or it will need to be drilled out.
