Weight Distribution System for a Chevy Colorado with 4,500 Lb Trailer
Question:
Does the size of the tow vehicle make a difference in sway control? I am pulling a 26 foot 4500 pound travel trailer with a Chevy Colorado using a E2 800/8000 pound hitch. I am still getting some sway on windy days. Is this normal and would adding a sway bar help? I just bought this hitch and I dont want to buy another.

The size of the tow vehicle doesn't have much effect on a weight distribution system. The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control part # FA94-00-0800 is correct for you trailer so if you are still having trouble with sway then I recommend you re-adjust the head tilt angle to put more tension on the spring bars. If this still does not get rid of the sway then you might want to look into options such as an electronic sway control device, the Curt Electronic Sway Control System part # C94VV which will work alongside the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control. This device applies the trailer's' brakes to help gain back control of the trailer.
I am not sure what you are referring to as a sway bar but if you can clarify this for me then I would be glad to assist.
