Recommended Trailer Brake Assemblies for 1998 Fleetwood Mallard 24J Travel Trailer

Question:

We have a 26 ft 1998 Fleetwood Mallardinch J24. We need new brakes all around but cant find any numbers or info in or on the trailer to assist us in purchasing the correct replacement. Ive looked at your video and they mentioned measuring the diameter across. Our diameter measures 9 1/4 . Can you help me order the correct ones?

Absolutely. Your 1998 Fleetwood Mallard 24J will use 10 inch brake assemblies which are designed to work with 10 inch hubs so the measurements aren't literal. I recommend using the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKEBRK-35-SA. These assemblies will self-adjust so you don't need to worry about the manual maintenance to keep them operating to their best.

I've attached a couple videos to assist. If you need new mounting hardware use # BRKH10B. For your brake magnets, you will connect one wire to the brake controller output power and the other wire will connect to ground on your trailer. It doesn't matter which is which.
