Will Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack Work with EcoHitch on 2017 Subaru Crosstrek

Question:

I am looking at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2inch Hitches - Frame Mount Item # HR1450Z I currently own the EcoHitch Hidden hitch on my 2017 Subaru Crosstrek, which I recently purchased from you. Because of the way the Eco Hitch mounts on the Subaru behind the bumper, there is not much space for the stinger of any rack sliding into the receiver before hitting the muffler. So I need to know the measurement from the center of the pinhole, to the end of the stinger. The EcoHitch instructions state that this measurement cannot exceed more than 2-3/8. Due to the way the anti rattle system tightens on this rack it looks like the distance from the pinhole to the end of the stinger changes as you tighten it, so I need to know what the maximum length is to see if it will work with my hitch.

The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2 Bike Platform Rack # HR1450Z features an elongated hitch pin hole that allows it to line up with various positioned hitch pin holes on a receiver. From the rear of this hole to the back of the shank there's less than 2 inches so it will work fine with regards to the maximum 2-3/8 inch measurement that you mentioned.

The other thing you will want to check is the receiver's overall depth on your Crosstrek before it hits the muffler (not just back from the hitch pin hole but the entire depth from the opening to the muffler). The shank on the Sport Rider needs to insert into the receiver until the weld-on bump stop on the shank prevents it from going any further. This bump stop is located 4-3/4 inches from the end of the shank (see attached image). This means the total depth of your receiver also needs to be at least 4-3/4 inches for it to properly attach.

I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.
