Can Bottom Leaf be Removed When Replacing 3-Leaf Slipper Spring with 4-Leaf Slipper Spring

if my trailer has a 3 leaf slipper can i take the bottom leaf of a 4 leaf and be basically the same as the 3

You can easily replace a 3-leaf slipper spring with a 4-leaf option like the Universal Group Slipper Spring # SP-040275 that you referenced. You should definitely not remove the bottom leaf from this as that would lower the weight capacity plus the center bolt that holds all of the leaf springs together would need to be modified. All the extra leaf spring will affect is the height of your trailer but that will be very minimal. Just be sure that the leaf spring is rated properly, has the correct length, and is the correct width and you are good to go!

Please note that what you do to one side of an axle needs to also be done to the other side. If this is a single axle trailer then just 2 springs will work but if you have a tandem or triple axle then it would be best to use all of the same size leaf spring. Even though the extra leaf is just a difference in design, the extra height can affect the performance of your trailer when you are towing.
