Does Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger Require Connection to Starter Battery

Question:

Hi, Can the Redarc bcdc charger connect to aux power for 7 pin connection In trailer installation for its stater battery feed? Or must it have a separate wires run for starter battery in vehicle? I will be mainly charging from solar. Also- is it necessary to install the Relay kit?

That's an excellent question and the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - DC to DC - 12V/24V - 25 Amp # 331-BCDC1225D does require a connection to your starter battery as opposed to your 7-way; additionally you do need the 40-Amp MIDI Fuse Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle 25-Amp BCDC Battery Charger # 331-FK40. The reason is this kit makes sure you do not get a short or overload your system.
