Switching Spring Bars of Fastway E2 Kit from 800 lb to 1,000 lb for Trailer with GVWR of 8,200 lb

Question:

I have the Fastway e2 trunnion hitch with 8k bars that I inherited with a used trailer. The trailer weighs about 6700 empty and 8200 gvwr. Would the 10k bars be better suited? I was surprised only the 8k ones were there. Also would I need to purchase anything other than the bars assuming bolts, etc are good? Thanks!

You would want to upgrade your spring bars as your tongue weight is most likely higher than what your current system is rated for. For that all you need is the # FA92-01-1099 and you'd be set. This will replace your current spring bars with ones that have a tongue weight range of 800-1,000 lbs which will be ideal.
