Where Should the Control Box for the SMI Stay-IN-Play Duo be Installed on a 2017 Buick Enclave
Question:
On a 2017 Buick Enclave. Suggested location to put the control box pump. I live on a dirt road, and I would like to install inside of car. I would have to extend everything off the control box, if I put it in the back of car. It will be a long way to run everything. Will not go under seats may damage electrical components under seat if someone s seat all the way down. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

The control box for the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251 is designed to be installed in the engine compartment on any vehicle, including your 2017 Buick Enclave. It is actually somewhat weather resistant and can take some water getting on it although you want to avoid this being a constant for the control box. If you are wanting to mount the control box inside your vehicle at the rear cargo area then you will need to supply a longer hose for the vacuum and make sure that you can install it in such a way that there are no kinks or leaks. I recommend installing it at the top of your engine compartment where it will remain out of the way yet give you some access to it in the event that you need to get to it. Attached is a picture where this was installed on a '17 Acadia for you to reference.
For a supplemental braking system that was tested and approved for the cargo area of your 2017 Enclave I recommend using the Roadmaster InvisiBrake # RM-8700. When Roadmaster installed this on a '17 Enclave they found that the cargo area was the best place to install the main box unit. To complete the installation you just need the Stop Light Switch # RM-751221.
