Which Circuit Breaker to Use When Installing Brake Controller on 1999 Chevy Suburban
Question:
What size breaker do you need for this install. 20 , 30 , 40 amp breaker? Video does not state. Thanks, CM

When using the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 to install the Hopkins Agility Brake Controller # HM47294 the included 40 amp breaker will be used for the 12V power wire on the 7-Way (black wire). This leaves you with a choice of whether to use the 20 amp or 30 amp breaker for the brake controller's power wire and it's really going to depend on the type of trailer(s) you plan on towing.
For anything more than a 2 axle trailer you will want to use the 30 amp breaker. If you don't foresee pulling anything heavier than a single or tandem axle trailer the 20 amp breaker will be plenty sufficient.
