How To Use a 2 Inch Cargo Carrier on a 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch

I have a 2017 Audi A3 with a Curt 1.25inch receiver hitch. I also have a Curt cargo basket with a 2inch hitch bar. But the car sits so low that the basket will bottom out when loaded with a cooler. Ive looked for an off the shelf riser to go from the 1.25 receiver to the 2inch cargo basket, but havent found anything. Im ready to fabricate one. Do you offer the 1.25 hitch bar and the 2inch receiver, along with something I can weld vertically between the two?

In order to use the 1-1/4" hitch on your 2017 Audi A3 with a Curt cargo carrier that has a 2" shank, you can use the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver with 5" Rise part # HT5R which will give you the rise that you need as well for ground clearance. Unfortunately, we don't have all the parts you need to fabricate one of your own. Please note the use of this adapter will reduce your hitch's tongue weight capacity.
