If you are wanting to use a trunk mounted bike rack to carry 2 bikes on your 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio Convertible then I highly recommend the Hollywood Racks Expedition # HRF6-2 because the adjustable arms and anti-sway cradle combination is hard to beat at this price point compared to other bike racks that fit your Cabrio. The adjustable arms not only allow you to keep your bikes level but they also fold up when you aren't carrying your bikes so that you have more rear clearance. The anti-sway cradles help prevent bike to bike and bike to car contact.

To add locks to this bike rack you need the Passive Security Strap # TH533 and a Cable Lock # e98891. I have attached a review video and the written instructions for you to reference.

Since you are carrying 2 adult hybrid bikes you should be good but just in case either of your bikes doesn't have a horizontal top tube you may need an adapter bar # HRBA-PRO to keep your bikes level. I also recommend using the Ti-Downs # SR54FR to keep your front tires from moving when the bikes are loaded.

Please note that you won't be able to access your trunk with this bike rack installed even if the bikes are removed. If you'd rather have a hitch mounted bike rack then I can make a recommendation for you in that case.
